Vestibular testing involves a series of tests that are\nadministered when you are experiencing dizziness. They are used to determine\nwhether symptoms of dizziness are being caused by the balance system of the\ninner ear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vestibular system is complex and responsible for many of\nthe body\u2019s functions. In order to narrow down the exact cause of dizziness, it\nis necessary to administer a variety of tests. These measure eye movements,\nhead movements, hearing and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Studies indicate vestibular testing is extremely thorough\nand accurate in identifying inner ear disorders. Vestibular testing is also\nhelpful in determining whether additional diagnostic testing, such as an MRI,\nis needed. A battery of tests is administered in most cases.
