Philosophy of Patient Care:
“The needs of the patient always come first. I enjoy the complexity and variety that comes with dealing with symptoms of the head and neck region and recognize their impact on quality of life. My goals as a provider are to educate on options and always include patients in care decisions that will be in their best interest. I always seek to treat my patients as I would my own family members, and I am constantly seeking ways to improve the delivery of patient care.”

Personal:
Dr. Goates became interested in otolaryngology after witnessing a cochlear implant surgery and activation early in his career. He was immediately impressed with the quality-of-life impact. He strives to offer a blend of compassion and competence while partnering with patients to build a treatment plan that addresses their goals and care needs.
In his spare time, Dr. Goates enjoys camping, fishing, hiking and exploring the outdoors with his wife and children. His greatest joy in life is watching his five children grow and learn new things.
